Ghana produces some of the most disciplined, hard-working accountants in West Africa — yet most of them are locked into a local market that under-prices their skills. We saw this every day. Brilliant CPAs and finance graduates working long hours for wages that didn't match their training.

We didn't build another classroom. We built a bridge — a direct, practical pathway from a Ghanaian accounting degree to a real remote US accounting career.

Our mission is simple: take the talent that already exists in Ghana, train it on the exact systems US CPA firms use, and remove every barrier between a qualified accountant and a US remote employer. No theory. No fluff. No middlemen.

Joshua started his career like most Ghanaian accountants — strong technical training, long hours, and a paycheck that didn't reflect the value of his work. Then he landed his first remote contract with a US CPA firm and saw the gap firsthand: the same skill set, valued completely differently.

Over the next four years he filed individual 1040s, complex business returns, partnership and S-corp filings, and learned the multi-state compliance details that separate a junior preparer from a trusted member of a US accounting team. He worked directly with US CPA firms, navigated the IRS credentialing process, and built a network of US clients who valued his work for what it was — world-class.

"Talent is evenly distributed. Opportunity is not. JOEST exists to fix the second half of that sentence."

JOEST US Consult is the program Joshua wishes had existed when he started. The Akofena Cohort 2026 is the next chapter — and the doors are open.
