JOEST US Consult exists for one reason — to put Ghanaian accounting talent on the global stage. We train accountants in the exact US bookkeeping and tax preparation skills that command 3–5× local market rates, then connect them to the remote opportunities waiting on the other side.
Ghana produces some of the most disciplined, hard-working accountants in West Africa — yet most of them are locked into a local market that under-prices their skills. We saw this every day. Brilliant CPAs and finance graduates working long hours for wages that didn't match their training.
We didn't build another classroom. We built a bridge — a direct, practical pathway from a Ghanaian accounting degree to a real remote US accounting career.
Our mission is simple: take the talent that already exists in Ghana, train it on the exact systems US CPA firms use, and remove every barrier between a qualified accountant and a US remote employer. No theory. No fluff. No middlemen.
A US CPA firm doesn't care whether you're in Accra or Atlanta — they care whether you can close the books, file a clean 1040, and turn around a partnership return on time. That's what we train.
Core BeliefIf your work is at a US standard, your earnings should be too. We exist to close that 3–5× gap — not by selling hope, but by closing the skill and credentialing gaps that hold it open.
Earnings MultiplierClear pricing, clear deadlines, clear modules, clear outcomes. No upsells halfway through. No hidden fees. Everything our trainees need to know is on the homepage before they apply.
No SurprisesOnce you train with JOEST, you're in our remote-jobs community for life. Opportunities, referrals, second opinions on tricky returns — we keep the door open long after the cohort ends.
Lifetime AccessWe are a Ghanaian company training Ghanaian accountants to operate fluently in the US market. The name Akofena — the Adinkra symbol of courage and valour — reflects the cohort we build.
#AkofenaCohortUS tax work demands precision. We teach IRS standards, PTIN/EFIN registration, and the ethical guardrails of US tax practice — because shortcuts cost careers.
IRS-AlignedEvery program reflects its founder. Here's the story behind ours.
Joshua started his career like most Ghanaian accountants — strong technical training, long hours, and a paycheck that didn't reflect the value of his work. Then he landed his first remote contract with a US CPA firm and saw the gap firsthand: the same skill set, valued completely differently.
Over the next four years he filed individual 1040s, complex business returns, partnership and S-corp filings, and learned the multi-state compliance details that separate a junior preparer from a trusted member of a US accounting team. He worked directly with US CPA firms, navigated the IRS credentialing process, and built a network of US clients who valued his work for what it was — world-class.
JOEST US Consult is the program Joshua wishes had existed when he started. The Akofena Cohort 2026 is the next chapter — and the doors are open.
Connect on LinkedInJoshua leads the program. He's joined in the advanced modules by Frimpong — bringing his own four-plus years of US business-tax experience into the classroom.
Frimpong leads our advanced business-tax modules. He's currently an Accounting Manager with four-plus years of direct US remote accounting work — specialising in partnerships (Form 1065), S-corps and C-corps (Form 1120/1120-S), and payroll tax compliance. His expertise is built where it matters most: on live client engagements with US CPA firms.
The Akofena Cohort 2026 builds on everything we've learned from previous trainees. Here's the shape of what's ahead.
If our story resonates and you're ready to put Ghanaian talent on the global stage — we'd love to meet you. Apply to the cohort, book a free call, or just drop us a line.
